Playing Outside

"Happiness often sneaks in through a door you didn’t know you left open." -John Barrymore
Some of the BEST memories come from something unexpected . . . like the sprinklers suddenly coming alive on a warm, lazy afternoon while the kids, Dan and I were hanging out in the backyard.

Zach immediately asked if he could play in the sprinklers--he always asks! He darted off to get swim trunks (really, I forget how fast he can move when he wants to). I was lazily soaking up the sun (gasp! without any sunscreen) keeping a vague eye on my little one as she was exploring. Dan was in and out grilling some pork chops for dinner and doing other odds and ends.

By this time, Zach and the dogs have already made a circuit or two through the sprinklers when much to our surprise and delight, the littlest one in the family decided to see what all the commotion was about. Turns out, she likes the sprinklers . . . and dirt . . . and rocks! Seems we have a little tomboy on our hands. No surprise there I guess. Her brother was equally delighted to have her join in the play (although she made SURE to stay out of the grass)!

This crazy crawl is how Brynn gets around when she doesn't want to put her knees on a surface or when she's wearing a dress! Very inventive!

I am certainly thankful for lazy afternoons, warm sun, and the sudden spurt of the sprinklers!

So adorable. I could just bite her little cheeks off. Zach is such a good brother to her. Aren't you amazed at God's perfect timing for a sibling for him? He takes such good care of her!

Nothing better than sprinklers!
So Brynn prefers those over the kiddie pool? Whew....how safe of her :D
God is merciful even in our giving our kids certain preferences!
Muah!

Ohhhhhh, such sweet kids - and loving parents :) Of course she'll be a tomboy!!! Big brother, Zach, is her hero!!
